The big snow

Here are a couple of pictures from the big snow today. Here is the balcony off my bedroom. That swirly thing is a bird feeder.

So who wants to go sit on the deck?

A belated Christmas picture

Christmas 2009 - This year I just swagged the roping and tied it to the banister with ribbons. It was at least 10 times easier and it looked better, too. Now I'm wondering why I ever did it differently...

My shower bites the dust

It started with water coming through the ceiling. We found the main problem - our well water eats copper pipes. But even after the pipes were replaced and my shower was reassembled we couldn't stop all the leaking. Here is a picture of the shower:

The garage in Spring

Here is a picture of the garage in Spring. It is especially notable because once school ended (for the summer), I started to move the walk........Then, once I started to move the walk, I decided to dig a fish pond. This view is from the other direction:

And here is a bit of the walk looking back toward the direction of the garage. The bit of future pond and daylilies and liriope on the left are where the walk used to be:

Christmas 2007

I haven't posted anything for months and there's a reason. I started a new job in September and the next day started work on a Masters degree. Net result - no free time. Work on the house slowed to a crawl. But we did take a quick break for Christmas - here is a picture of one of the cats posing with some of the decorations.

Here is how the garage looks today

So here is how the garage looks today. There is still plenty to do. We need to finish painting it and get grilles for the windows. And although we've planted hundreds of plants, more landscaping is needed. But a lot has been done. For one thing, the cars fit inside. And we are slowly uncluttering the house.

Here is how it looks with the house:

Now back to the garden.....
